Troops Neutralize Terror Suspects, Arrest Kidnapper in Plateau

On April 4 and 5, 2023, Nigerian troops conducted operations in Plateau State, resulting in the neutralization of terror suspects and the arrest of a kidnapper. The operations were part of a coordinated mission by the Joint Task Force aimed at dismantling criminal hideouts.

On April 4, troops engaged in a firefight with armed terrorists along Babangida Adua road, leading to the neutralization of two suspects, while others fled with gunshot wounds. A subsequent search recovered local fabric, firearms, and ammunition.

On April 5, troops in Namu District intercepted four suspects following credible intelligence about suspicious armed movements, resulting in the recovery of additional ammunition. During the operations, three out of four suspects were fatally struck by gunfire from their own group.

Additionally, at 9:35 AM on April 5, troops apprehended a kidnapper in Gidan Mangoro Village, believed to be connected to a kidnapping incident reported on April 3. The arrested individual is currently in custody as investigations continue.
