Troops Eliminate 9 ISWAP Commanders in Borno Operation

On Saturday, Nigerian troops conducted an operation in Borno State's Sambisa Forest, resulting in the deaths of nine commanders of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), including Abu Khalid Al Muhajir, a key figure responsible for providing security escorts for senior ISWAP members. The operation was confirmed by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, spokesman for the Nigerian Air Force, who stated that the operation was based on intelligence regarding the activities and movements of suspected terrorists.

The Nigerian Air Force deployed a Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) for persistent Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), which allowed for the identification and tracking of terrorists. Following confirmation of the target, precision strikes were executed, leading to significant damage and the neutralization of several terrorists.

The operation is noted as a significant setback for ISWAP, particularly due to Al Muhajir's knowledge of critical routes and tactical movements within the region.
