Troops Eliminate Bandit Kingpins in Sokoto Operation

Troops from the Nigerian Army executed a successful operation against bandit insurgents in Sokoto State, resulting in the deaths of several bandits, including prominent kingpins. The operation took place around Dangulbi and Kurawa villages in the Tureta Local Government Area, which is strategically located near the Zamfara State border.

Credible security sources reported that the troops engaged in fierce gun battles with the bandits, who had fortified their hideouts in the area. The operation was carried out by personnel from the 8 Division of the Nigerian Army in collaboration with local vigilante groups familiar with the terrain.

Soldiers recovered caches of weapons and motorcycles used by the bandits to launch attacks. The operation was commended by stakeholders, including the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters, Colonel Ahmad Usman, who expressed hope that sustained military efforts would restore peace to the border communities.
