Troops Repel Bandit Attack in Benue, One Killed

On February 22, 2023, bandits launched an attack on villages including Olojo, Ojantel, and Edikwu Icho in the Apa Local Government Area of Benue State around 1:45 PM. The assailants fired sporadically, causing panic among residents.

Troops from a tactical unit promptly engaged the attackers in a gun duel, forcing them to flee into nearby bushes. During the attack, a resident named Ngbede Okp Agabaidu was shot dead.

The body was later evacuated to a local mortuary. Military authorities coordinated aerial surveillance in the area to track and apprehend the fleeing suspects.
