Nigerian Troops and Police Repel Bandit Attack in Benue State

Nigerian security forces, including the army and police, effectively repelled an armed bandit attack in Ankpali Village, located in the Apa Local Government Area of Benue State. The incident occurred early on Wednesday when the security forces received a distress call indicating the village was under attack.

In response, reinforcements comprising 80 personnel from the Nigerian Army and Police Mobile Force (PMF) arrived at the scene. A crossfire ensued, leading to the bandit forces retreating, with one assailant shot dead.

The deceased's body was taken to a local mortuary. Security operations are ongoing to track and apprehend fleeing suspects involved in the attack.

Residents commended the swift response of the security forces, which prevented further loss of lives and properties.
