Troops Neutralize Terrorist and Destroy Hideout in Kebbi

On March 30, 2023, troops from the 223 Battalion conducted a coordinated operation in Kebbi State, targeting terrorist hideouts. Following aerial intelligence, they engaged in a firefight with terrorists in the villages of Mairairai, Dan Makarawa, and Yar Maitaba, resulting in the neutralization of a terrorist and the destruction of a hideout associated with notorious kingpin Alhaji Ilu.

This operation is part of a sustained effort to dismantle terrorist networks and deny them safe havens in the northwest region of Nigeria. Additionally, on the same day, troops from the 17 Brigade responded to reports of terrorist movements in Katsina State, recovering stolen livestock during their pursuit of fleeing suspects.

The incidents highlight the military's ongoing commitment to combatting terrorism and restoring security in affected communities.
