Nigerian Troops Neutralize Three Terrorists in Katsina

On May 9, 2023, troops from the Nigerian Army's 17 Brigade successfully neutralized three suspected terrorists in Katsina State. The operation took place along the Turar Kitibawa Kuka Mai Damusa road in the Dutsin Ma Local Government Area.

According to Sundai Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency security expert, the military ambush was part of a broader offensive aimed at dismantling terrorist networks in the region. The troops had established strategic blocking positions based on intelligence regarding the terrorists' movements.

During the encounter, the soldiers recovered an AK-47 rifle, a loaded magazine with three rounds of ammunition, three cutlasses, assorted charms, and a sum of N3,500. This operation is part of sustained military efforts to restore peace across Katsina State and its adjoining areas.
