Nigerian Troops Neutralize Terrorists in Sokoto Operation

On Monday, troops from the Nigerian Army's Special Intervention Battalion 7, in collaboration with the 8 Division Strike Team, conducted an operation in Sokoto that resulted in the neutralization of three terrorists. The operation was initiated based on credible intelligence indicating that approximately 100 terrorists were gathering deep inside Kadam Forest, planning an attack and kidnapping in surrounding communities.

The troops mobilized swiftly and engaged the terrorists around 12 noon, leading to an intense gun battle. The terrorists attempted a rear flank maneuver to repel the troops but were met with tactical superiority throughout the encounter.

Following the operation, it was confirmed that three terrorists were neutralized, with several others believed to have escaped with gunshot wounds. The troops recovered significant arms, including a PKT machine gun, two AK-47 rifles, 350 rounds of ammunition, 111 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, three magazines, two communication radios, and three motorcycles.
