Troops Neutralize Bandits, Recover Weapons in Zamfara

On March 25, at approximately 2:55 PM, troops from the 1 Brigade Counter Terror Unit conducted an operation along Gada Maya-Makakari Road in Zamfara, specifically in the Anka Local Government Area. They laid an ambush along a major supply route frequently used by bandits.

Upon making contact, the troops engaged the armed elements, resulting in the neutralization of two suspected bandits. The operation led to the recovery of significant items at the scene, including one AK-47 rifle, three magazines containing 55 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, a Baofeng radio set, two mobile phones, and a motorcycle.

The recovered items are believed to be used for communication among the bandits. This operation is part of ongoing efforts to maintain pressure on criminal elements and enhance security across the state.
