Troops Neutralize Two Terrorists, Recover Arms in Kebbi

On June 27, 2026, troops from the Joint Task Force, under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, successfully neutralized two Lakurawa terrorists during an operation in Kebbi State. The operation, named Fansan Yamma, was initiated following credible intelligence indicating that the terrorist group planned to attack the Sabarumawa community.

Troops from the 7th Battalion were swiftly mobilized to the area to establish tactical ambushes along suspected terrorist routes. During the engagement, the troops faced fierce gunfire but ultimately overwhelmed the terrorists, resulting in the neutralization of two members of the group, while others fled into the surrounding forest.

The operation led to the recovery of arms, including AK-47 rifles, magazines, and 143 rounds of ammunition, as well as a motorcycle believed to be used by the terrorists. Colonel Danja stated that this operation represents a significant setback for terrorist elements in the region and reaffirmed the commitment to sustain offensive operations against criminal groups to protect law-abiding citizens.
