Troops Foil Lakurawa Attack, Recover Livestock and Arms

Troops from the Nigerian Army conducted operations in Sokoto and Katsina States, successfully foiling an attack by the Lakurawa terrorist group. Lieutenant Colonel Olaniyi Osoba, the Deputy Director of Army Public Relations for 8 Division, reported that troops swiftly responded to an intelligence alert regarding an attempted arson attack.

During the engagement, two terrorists were killed, while others fled the scene. The troops recovered two AK-47 rifles and ammunition.

Additionally, during a patrol in Jibia Local Government Area, troops encountered suspected terrorists moving rustled livestock. Following an exchange of gunfire, the troops forced the criminals to retreat, resulting in the recovery of 62 rustled animals, which were returned to the Daddara District Head of Jibia.

The military reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining pressure on terrorist and bandit groups across the northwest and called on residents to support security agencies with credible intelligence.
