Troops Dismantle Illegal Arms Factory in Kebbi State

Troops from the Troop Sector 2 Joint Task Force North West, operating under Operation Fansan Yamma, successfully dismantled an illegal arms manufacturing syndicate in Kebbi State. The operation, confirmed in a statement on Thursday, involved the recovery of five locally fabricated AK-47 rifles and the arrest of two suspects alleged to be gun makers supplying weapons to terrorist groups.

Aliyu Danja, the troop commander, stated that the operation was based on credible intelligence and was carefully planned to target a secluded compound used for manufacturing firearms. The troops conducted a thorough search of the premises, leading to the recovery of the weapons and the arrests.

Danja emphasized the importance of inter-agency cooperation in disrupting terrorist logistics and degrading criminal networks across the North West region. The suspects are currently in military custody and undergoing preliminary interrogation as investigations continue to identify and apprehend other members of the syndicate, including financial collaborators.
