Troops Neutralize Terrorists in Plateau State Operation

On June 26, troops conducted operations in Plateau State, successfully repelling an attack on the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) located in Kuru, Jos South Local Government Area. The operation was part of ongoing efforts to enhance peace and security in the region.

Captain Chinonso Polycarp Oteh disclosed that the troops encountered resistance from armed terrorists attempting to breach the institute's perimeter. Following reports of suspicious criminal activity in the area, the troops engaged the terrorists, who opened fire while allegedly using livestock as cover.

The military maintained their position and called for reinforcements, which arrived promptly, compelling the terrorists to abandon their position. The troops then launched a pursuit operation against the fleeing suspects, leading to the neutralization of several terrorists and the recovery of illegal weapons.

The operation was coordinated across Jos South and Barkin Ladi Local Government Areas.
