Security Forces Repel Attack on NIPSS in Plateau State

On Wednesday night, security operatives thwarted an attack on the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) located in Kuru, Plateau State. The incident occurred around 11 PM when suspected gunmen attempted to breach the institute's security perimeter.

During the ensuing gun battle, one assailant was killed, while several others sustained gunshot wounds and fled the scene. Dr.

Osim Samuel, the head of public affairs at NIPSS, issued a statement confirming that security personnel responded swiftly to prevent the attackers from gaining access to the premises. The attackers engaged in a fierce exchange of gunfire with security forces, who managed to force them to retreat.

Following the incident, security agencies have intensified efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspects and are implementing proactive security measures to strengthen safety around the institute. This attack follows a previous unsuccessful attempt by gunmen to breach NIPSS's security.
