Troops Rescue 23 Kidnap Victims in Kogi Operation

On Monday, troops from the Nigerian Army's 12 Brigade conducted a rescue operation in Kogi State, successfully saving 23 individuals who had been kidnapped by suspected bandits along Ayegunle Bunu Road in Kabba Bunu Local Government Area. The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday when the assailants barricaded the road and abducted an unspecified number of passengers.

Following a distress call, the troops were deployed to the area and arrived to find two dead bodies and five injured victims, as well as two abandoned Toyota commercial buses and a Howo truck at the roadside. The troops immediately launched a pursuit operation along the kidnappers' withdrawal route, leading to the rescue of the 23 passengers.

The injured victims were evacuated to St. Joseph Hospital in Kabba for medical attention, while efforts continued to track down the fleeing criminals.
