Troops Neutralize Six Suspects, Rescue Abducted Woman

On February 17, troops intensified their efforts to restore peace in Plateau State by conducting a coordinated raid in the Riyom Local Government Area. This operation was part of an ongoing intelligence-driven offensive aimed at dismantling armed gangs responsible for violence and kidnappings in the region.

During the raid, which occurred at approximately 6:20 PM, troops neutralized six suspects linked to a kidnapping syndicate. The operation followed the earlier arrest of two suspects who provided information leading to the criminals' hideout.

The troops encountered armed resistance, resulting in a gun duel where four suspects were neutralized. Two previously arrested suspects allegedly attempted to escape and disarm the soldiers but were subdued.

The operation successfully rescued Hauwa Suleiman, the abducted woman, unharmed, and she was reunited with her family. The security operation reflects the military's strategy to dismantle criminal networks and reduce violence in the area.
