Truck Overturns on Otedola Bridge, Causes Major Traffic Jam

On Wednesday, a Mack truck encountered a battery failure while on Otedola Bridge, resulting in the vehicle overturning during a private recovery attempt. The truck's overturn caused two 20ft containers to fall onto the roadway, obstructing traffic and leading to a total blockage.

This incident resulted in a massive traffic backlog that extended back to Kara Bridge in Lagos State. The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed that recovery operations were successful, with the containers removed and traffic flow restored.

LASTMA deployed high-capacity tow trucks and cranes to manage the situation effectively. Traffic control personnel were present on the ground to ensure smooth vehicular movement.

The agency assured motorists that the highway would be cleared for vehicular movement as recovery operations continued.
