APM Critiques Tinubu Over Misleading Trump Letter Claims

The Allied People’s Movement (APM) accused the Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government of misleading Nigerians regarding a letter from United States President Donald Trump. The APM's National Publicity Secretary, Abubakar Yusuf, stated that Trump merely acknowledged Tinubu's resolve to tackle insecurity, not any concrete achievements in the fight against terrorism.

The Presidency had announced that Trump commended Tinubu's administration's security efforts, as conveyed by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga. The APM challenged the government to identify any part of Trump's letter that praised Tinubu for tangible results against terrorism.

They emphasized that the letter, dated July 6, 2026, recognized Tinubu's commitment but did not celebrate any specific accomplishments in combating terrorism. The APM condemned the government's interpretation as an attempt to mislead the public and insisted that Nigerians are still awaiting visible improvements in security.
