Tuggar Launches Project Approval Board for Foreign Affairs

On a significant date, Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, inaugurated the Ministry's Project Approval Board, which represents a crucial step in ongoing institutional reforms aimed at modernizing Nigeria's diplomatic system. This inauguration signals the formal commencement of a structured framework to institutionalize and accelerate public-private partnership (PPP) initiatives within the Ministry's operational architecture.

During the ceremony, Tuggar emphasized that this move is a decisive reform designed to strengthen governance, improve efficiency, and unlock innovative funding mechanisms in line with global best practices. The newly established board will ensure that PPP initiatives undergo rigorous technical, financial, and legal evaluations, reinforcing transparency and accountability.

Additionally, the Ministry announced that the Ministry of Security will provide regulatory clearance for infrastructure concessions through the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC). This initiative is part of the government's broader strategy to modernize outbound travel governance and enhance citizen protection.
