Tuggar Resigns as Foreign Affairs Minister for Governorship

Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, has officially resigned to pursue his ambition for the governorship of Bauchi State. This decision was disclosed by Alkasim Abdulkadir, his Special Assistant on Media and Communication Strategy, on a Monday. Tuggar's resignation letter, which was submitted to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), stipulates March 31 as the effective date of his resignation. In his letter, he expressed profound gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the opportunity to serve the nation and contribute to the implementation of the President's foreign policy strategies. Tuggar acknowledged the support he received from the management staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the diplomatic community throughout his tenure. His time in office was marked by significant achievements, including advancing people-centered diplomacy, facilitating humanitarian evacuations, and enhancing engagement with the Nigerian diaspora.
