Foreign Affairs Minister Tuggar Resigns to Run for Governor

Yusuf Tuggar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria, has officially resigned from his position to pursue a political ambition of running for the governorship seat in Bauchi State. The announcement was made on Monday through a brief statement by the ministry's spokesperson, Kimiebi Ebienfa.

Tuggar's resignation aligns with reports that he is among four ministers in President Bola Tinubu's cabinet expected to resign in order to contest in the upcoming elections. Alkasim Abdulkadir, the Special Adviser on Media and Communication Strategy, confirmed Tuggar's intent to contest for the governorship seat.

Tuggar hails from the Gamawa Local Government Area in Bauchi State and has previously contested for political positions. The timing of his resignation adheres to the rules and regulations set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) regarding political candidacy.
