Yusuf Tuggar Appointed Nigeria's Foreign Affairs Minister

Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, born in Bauchi 59 years ago, has been appointed as Nigeria's Minister of Foreign Affairs under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Tuggar's diplomatic career includes serving as Nigeria's ambassador to Germany from 2017 to 2023, where he played a significant role in various international engagements, including the 23rd session of the UN Climate Change Conference and facilitating the return of 22 Benin bronze artifacts valued at £100 million.

He has a strong academic background with a master's degree from the University of Bath and has worked in the private sector as CEO of Nordic Oil and Gas Services Ltd.
