National Assembly Commends Interior Minister's Reforms

On Tuesday, during a joint committee session of the National Assembly, members praised Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, for his substantial reform efforts.

Senator Adam Oshiomhole, chairman of the Senate Committee on Interior, commended the minister on behalf of the joint session, highlighting the various reforms undertaken that have positively impacted the country's image internationally. Oshiomhole noted that these efforts have yielded serious results, particularly in enhancing the operations of immigration services and civil defense.

He acknowledged the need for continued reform, especially in the civil defense and fire services sectors. The Senate also passed a resolution to visit Kano to assess the recent fire incidents affecting private properties, emphasizing the importance of the fire service's role in protecting lives and property.

The ongoing recruitment process for the civil defense and fire services was also mentioned as a matter of urgent national importance, with a call to expedite the release of the list of successful applicants.
