Wike Faction Takes Control of PDP Headquarters Amid Clash

On November 18, 2025, the Wike faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) took over the party's headquarters at Wadata Plaza, resulting in a clash with the Turaki faction. Following this takeover, police sealed off the facility.

The Wike group announced that the police would unseal the secretariat, prompting a swift reaction from the Turaki faction, which accused the police of acting in a partisan manner. Ememobong, the spokesman for the Turaki faction, claimed that the police were aiding the Wike camp, which he described as agents of the federal government and APC apologists masquerading as PDP members.

The Turaki faction is currently appealing a court judgment related to this matter, asserting that the police's actions are undermining the legal process. Ememobong emphasized the need for peace among party members and warned against actions that could breach public peace, expressing hope that the new Inspector General of Police would act differently in this ongoing imbroglio.
