PDP Sets 2026 Primary Timetable, N100M for Presidential Forms

The interim national executive committee of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), led by Kabiru Turaki, has approved a timetable for the 2026 primary elections. According to a statement signed by Comrade Ini Ememobong, the national publicity secretary, the sale of nomination forms will commence on May 5, 2026, and conclude on May 13, 2026.

The last date for the submission of completed forms is set for May 14, 2026. Screening of aspirants will take place from May 15 to May 18, 2026, with an appeal period on May 21, 2026.

Public clearance for aspirants is scheduled for May 22, 2026, followed by ward primaries on May 27, 2026, and an appeal for those primaries on May 28, 2026. The National Executive Committee (NEC) will meet to approve nominated candidates on May 29, 2026, with a special convention for candidate ratification on May 30, 2026.

The cost for presidential nomination forms is pegged at N100 million, while forms for other positions vary in price.
