Utomi Calls Low Voter Turnout an Indictment of Politics

His remarks came during an interview on Channel Television, where he reacted to the recent passage of the Electoral Act by the National Assembly, which was signed into law by the President within 24 hours of its passage.

Utomi emphasized that the new law should reflect the desires of the Nigerian populace and highlighted the concerning trend of low voter participation as a significant issue. He called on the National Assembly to reconsider the Electoral Act, suggesting that the current legislation does not adequately address the needs and expectations of Nigerian citizens regarding electoral participation.
