Two Adamawa Commissioners Resign Ahead of 2027 Elections

On Wednesday, during a state executive council meeting in Yola, two commissioners from Adamawa State, Felix Tangwami, who served as the Commissioner for Health and Human Services, and Tijjani Maksha, the Commissioner for Livestock and Aquaculture Development, announced their resignations from Governor Ahmadu Fintiri's cabinet. The resignations take immediate effect as both officials aim to focus on their political ambitions in preparation for the 2027 general elections.

Jame Iliya, who spoke at the meeting, indicated that the decision was voluntary and aligned with the expectations of public office holders seeking electoral positions. The departure of the two commissioners is anticipated to create a temporary gap in their respective ministries; however, government sources suggest that the administration will soon announce interim appointments to ensure continuity in governance.

Chief Tangwami played a key role in enhancing primary healthcare delivery, while Maksha was involved in advancing livestock and aquaculture projects aimed at boosting food production and rural livelihoods.
