Two Herders Killed in Plateau State Ambush Incident

On a Monday evening around 8 PM, two herders, Sadiq Muhammad, aged 28, and Maud Abdullahi, aged 29, were ambushed and killed in Plateau State. Ibrahim Yusuf Babayo, the state chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), confirmed the incident to journalists in Jos, the state capital.

Babayo described the attack as unprovoked and urged security forces to track down the perpetrators. The victims were shot multiple times, resulting in their deaths.

Ismaila Haruna, a survivor of the attack, recounted that he and two others were riding motorcycles to a cattle pen when gunmen opened fire, killing his colleagues instantly while he narrowly escaped. Following the incident, security personnel were deployed to the area to maintain peace, and the bodies of the victims were recovered and returned to their families for burial.

Babayo called on members of the association to remain calm and allow security agencies to investigate the incident, emphasizing the need for law-abiding behavior.
