Gunmen Kill Two Herders in Enugu Cattle Camp Attack

Two members of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), identified as Ahmadu and Umaru, were killed during an attack on a cattle camp in the Oheoyya community, Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State. The incident occurred around 5:00 PM on Saturday when unidentified gunmen invaded the camp.

The victims were sons of Alhaji Haruna Sale, the South-East Zonal Chairman of MACBAN. In addition to the fatalities, the attackers slaughtered approximately 40 cows.

Gidado Siddiki, the National Deputy Director-General of MACBAN, praised the Enugu State Government and security operatives for their quick response, which allowed for the recovery of the victims' bodies for Islamic burial rites. Siddiki urged security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation to apprehend the perpetrators and called for peaceful coexistence among Enugu residents.

He expressed gratitude to Governor Peter Mbah and local leaders for their support, emphasizing the importance of harmonious relations between herders and host communities.
