Two Arrested After Vehicle Kills Woman in Port Harcourt

On Tuesday, a young woman was fatally injured when she was struck by a speeding vehicle convoy near Rivers State University in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Eyewitnesses reported that the vehicle involved fled the scene after the incident.

The victim sustained severe head injuries upon impact with the ground. Following the accident, personnel from the university and the Nkpolu Police Division quickly cordoned off the area and initiated a search for the suspects.

Two individuals were later apprehended, identified as Onunaka Daniel, the driver of a Toyota Camry, and another suspect, both of whom are students at Rivers State University at the time of the report. The deceased's body was recovered and deposited at a mortuary.

Efforts to reach Victor Banigo, a spokesperson for Rivers State University, for comments were unsuccessful. Bless Agab, a spokesperson for the state police command, confirmed the incident and the arrest of the suspects, stating that investigations are ongoing.
