Woman Killed by Speeding Vehicle in Port Harcourt

A tragic incident occurred in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where a young woman was killed by a speeding vehicle on Tuesday near the Rivers State University campus. The victim sustained fatal injuries after being struck and hitting her head on the ground.

Eyewitnesses reported that the vehicle, part of a convoy, fled the scene. University security personnel and the Nkpolu police division quickly responded, cordoning off the area and apprehending two suspects identified as Onunaka Daniel, the driver of a Toyota Camry, and another individual associated with a Mercedes Benz E300.

Both suspects are students at Rivers State University. The suspects were detained at the Nkpolu police division in the Mile 3 area of Diobu, Port Harcourt.

The deceased's body was recovered and deposited in a mortuary. Efforts to reach Victor Banigo, the spokesperson for Rivers State University, for comments were unsuccessful.

Bless Agab, the spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, confirmed the incident and the arrest of the suspects, stating that investigations are ongoing.
