Gunmen Kill Five in Plateau State Attack on Sunday Night

On Sunday night, gunmen attacked the Fan District in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, resulting in the deaths of at least five individuals. The victims were ambushed while returning home around 9 PM.

Four people were killed on the spot, while another succumbed to injuries later in the hospital. Rwang Tengwong, the public secretary of the Berom Youth Moulder, confirmed the incident and described the attack as unfortunate, urging security agencies to intensify efforts to protect lives and property in the area to prevent further violence.

Captain Polycarp Oteh, a spokesperson for the Plateau State Police Command, had not commented on the situation at the time of the report. The attack has heightened tensions among residents, who have expressed concerns about the ongoing security situation in the region.
