Two Killed, Three Injured in Ondo APC Congress Violence

On February 18, a violent incident occurred during the APC ward congress in Idanr, Ondo State, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to three others. The Ondo State Police Command confirmed the events on Wednesday, detailing that they received a distress call regarding the violence.

DSP Abayomi Jimoh, the police spokesman, reported that the attack involved a group of individuals and that five people were assaulted during the incident, with vehicles also set ablaze. Following the violence, a combined team led by Jimoh and the state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, CC Oluyemi Ibiloy, responded promptly to the scene.

At the time of the police statement, no arrests had been made, but the Commissioner of Police visited the injured victims to assess their conditions and assured that investigations were ongoing to uncover the circumstances surrounding the attack and to apprehend those responsible.
