Idanr Community Demands Probe into APC Congress Violence

The Idanr community in Ondo State has formally requested President Bola Tinubu and Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to initiate an independent investigation into violent incidents that occurred during the APC ward congress on February 18, 2026. Reports indicate that at least two individuals were killed and several others sustained serious injuries when political thugs disrupted the congress.

Raphael Adetimehin, the brother of the state APC chairman, was reportedly attacked during the incident. A letter signed by traditional ruler High Chief Akinloy Akinboni expressed deep concern over the violence, describing it as an unacceptable affront to peace and dignity in the Idanr kingdom.

The community has warned that if violence persists, they will seek legal redress and explore alternative democratic platforms for representation. The Ondo State Police Command confirmed the arrest of 13 suspects linked to the attack, following coordinated intelligence-led operations.
