Ondo APC Congress Violence: 4 Dead, Chairman's Brother Shot

On Wednesday, during the Ondo APC Congress, violence broke out in Idanre Local Government Area, leading to the shooting of Engr. Raphael Adetimehin's younger brother and the deaths of four others.

The attack occurred when armed men stormed the area and opened fire during the political exercise. The assailants allegedly mistook Raphael Adetimehin, the APC state chairman, for his brother, resulting in a brutal assault that left the brother unconscious.

Eyewitnesses reported that the attackers first shot at the brother, then used machetes and other sharp weapons when they realized he was not the intended target. The chaos escalated as vehicles were set ablaze, and residents fled their homes in fear.

Medical sources confirmed that Raphael Adetimehin's brother remains in critical condition in a hospital in Akure. Local party members accused a rival faction of sponsoring armed thugs to disrupt the congress process.

As of the report, no official arrests had been announced.
