Ogun Police Arrest Two for Robbing Students of iPhones

The Ogun State Police Command arrested two suspects, Waris Dauda and Tiamiyu Abiodun, for their alleged involvement in a robbery at a student hostel in the Eruku/Agbon area of Ewekoro Local Government Area. The incident occurred around 2:40 am when an anonymous caller alerted the Ewekoro Divisional Police Station about an armed gang robbing students.

Police operatives were mobilized to the scene, where the suspects abandoned a school bag containing 11 assorted iPhones, an HP laptop, and various items of clothing while attempting to flee. The victims identified their recovered property.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the gang forced one victim to transfer N200,000 to a bank account during the robbery. Detectives documented evidence of forced entry and secured the recovered items.

Although search warrants executed at the suspects' residences yielded no further incriminating evidence, the suspects and the recovered property were transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation and prosecution. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend other fleeing gang members.
