Police Arrest Two Armed Robbers in Lagos Operation

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command arrested two suspected armed robbers, Arowolo Damilola, 32, and Adewale Olayinka, 29, during a patrol operation in the Odogunyan area of Lagos. The operation, conducted in collaboration with the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, resulted in the recovery of a locally made cut-to-size Dane gun and three live cartridges.

The police spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed that the suspects attempted to flee upon seeing the security team but were apprehended. A search of their handbag revealed the firearm and cartridges.

The suspects are currently in custody and are assisting police with ongoing investigations, after which they will be charged in court. Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, commended the operatives and the vigilante group for their effective collaboration and reiterated the commitment to ensuring the safety of residents while warning criminals against unlawful activities.
