Edo Police Foil Kidnapping Attempt, Arrest Two Suspects

The Edo State Police Command arrested two suspects, Muham Muamadu Haru (35) and Abubakar Muham Haruna (25), during a routine patrol along the Auchi-Igarra Highway in Edo North. The arrests were made on January 28 at 1:30 p.m.

The suspects, believed to be part of a kidnapping syndicate, attempted to flee but were swiftly intercepted and apprehended. Following this, on February 2, the police patrol team foiled another kidnapping attempt on the same highway, intercepting three armed suspects preparing to block the road.

The suspects fled into a nearby forest, but the police pursued them. Various items used in criminal operations were recovered at the scene.

The police have commended the vigilance of their officers and urged the public to report any suspicious activities. These arrests are part of ongoing efforts to curb kidnapping and violent crimes in the area.
