Edo Police Arrest Three Suspected Kidnappers in Edo State

The Edo State Police Command has arrested three suspected kidnappers as part of an operation to address increasing kidnapping incidents in the region. On February 17, 2026, Suleman Harruna, a 28-year-old citizen of Niger Republic residing in Kaba, Kogi State, was apprehended.

He is linked to a notorious kidnapping gang and provided information to aid ongoing investigations. On February 20, 2026, Ibrahim Kodo, a 25-year-old from Illushi, Edo State, was arrested for his involvement in a kidnapping incident that occurred on June 2, 2025.

The police have intensified surveillance in the area, leading to further arrests and the recovery of weapons. A separate operation on March 7, 2026, resulted in a gun battle with four suspects, three of whom escaped with gunshot wounds.

The police continue to pursue these suspects and have previously arrested 65 individuals linked to kidnapping activities in the region.
