Nigerian Researchers Excel at UNLEASH Innovation Lab 2026

Arom Ibrahim and Hauwa Yunusa, two Nigerian researchers, participated in the UNLEASH Innovation Lab Europe 2026 held in Copenhagen, Denmark. This prestigious event gathered 200 young innovators from across Europe to co-design solutions for urban challenges.

Arom Ibrahim, a PhD fellow at LUT University in Finland and RMIT University in Australia, focuses on innovative regenerative work examining business models that repair socio-ecological systems. He holds an Erasmus Mundus master's degree in impact entrepreneurship.

Hauwa Yunusa, an advocate for women in the maritime industry, is pursuing her PhD at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, where her research centers on maritime decarbonization and integrating digital twin technology into ship design processes. Both researchers emphasize the importance of showcasing African talent in global scientific innovation and addressing sustainability challenges.
