Two Officers Killed in Aba Police Station Attack

In the early hours of Saturday, two police officers were killed during an attack on the Uratta Police Station in Aba, Abia State. The state Commissioner of Police, Wilfred Afolabi, reported that three additional individuals, including two police officers and a civilian, sustained injuries and were transported to the Abia State University Teaching Hospital.
Afolabi, who inspected the damage at the station alongside Governor Alex Otti, confirmed that the attackers set parts of the facility ablaze and damaged a Hilux van and other vehicles. He stated that no arrests had been made but assured the public that efforts were underway to apprehend the attackers.
A source indicated that the assailants seemed to be targeting the police armoury, which was found empty, and allegedly took some police uniforms. It was also claimed that one attacker was shot dead but was carried away by his accomplices.
The attack occurred around 2 am, with one of the deceased officers reportedly burnt beyond recognition.
