Renewed Cult Violence Claims Two Lives in Lagos Ojo Area

In a resurgence of cult-related violence in Lagos State, two suspected cultists were shot dead in the Ojo area on Sunday. The victims, identified as members of the Neo Black Movement, were discovered with gunshot wounds at different locations within the community.

Sources indicate that the killings were part of a reprisal attack by rival cult members. One victim was reportedly a former chairman of the Neo Black Movement at the Alaba International Market, and he was allegedly targeted due to his close association with a former leader of the AY confraternity, who was killed in March of the previous year.

The second victim was also linked to the Neo Black Movement but was not a regular presence in the area. Reports suggest he was attacked while charging his phone during a power outage.

The Lagos State Police Command has yet to officially confirm the incidents, and the public relations officer, Abimbola Adebisi, did not respond to inquiries. Cult-related violence continues to pose a significant threat in Lagos despite ongoing efforts by security agencies to curb the menace.
