Troops Kill 50 ISWAP Terrorists in Yobe Military Base Attack

Troops from Operation Hadin Kai successfully repelled an attack by the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) on a military base located at Buni Gari in Yobe. The assault involved multiple direct attempts to overrun the checkpoint, but the troops, under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, demonstrated remarkable resilience and tactical brilliance, forcing the insurgents to retreat.

Throughout the encounter, the military maintained control of the camp, preventing any breach. Following the attack, intelligence reports indicated that an additional 20 corpses were sighted along the insurgents' withdrawal route near Gashua and Azar Kamuya.

The air component of Operation Hadin Kai played a significant role by providing intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance support, which included precise airstrikes that accounted for at least 20 additional terrorist deaths. However, two soldiers lost their lives during the encounter, and personnel are currently receiving medical treatment.

The operation underscored the troops' readiness to sustain pressure against terrorist groups operating in the northeast.
