ISWAP Attack on Borno Military Base Leaves Two Soldiers Dead

On Thursday morning, a military base in Magumeri Local Government Area, Borno State, was attacked by ISWAP terrorists. The assault resulted in the deaths of at least two soldiers, while troops managed to neutralize a significant number of terrorists.

Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, a media informant from the Joint Task Force, disclosed that the attack involved an attempt by the terrorists to infiltrate the base under poor visibility conditions. Although there was a minor breach in an isolated section of the military base, the troops fought gallantly to contain and defeat the attack.

The soldiers inflicted heavy casualties on the attackers and recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition, including an anti-aircraft gun and AK-47 rifles. The engagement caused temporary structural damage due to fire, but personnel were reported to be stable and receiving appropriate medical attention.
