Two Women Killed in Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Hit-and-Run

On Friday evening, June 12, 2026, at 6:31 PM, two unidentified women were fatally struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway near Car Park C in Ogun State. The Ogun State Traffic Compliance Enforcement Agency, represented by Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the incident, stating that the vehicle involved, a white mini Howo truck with registration number AKR 201 XD, fled the scene immediately after the crash.

Emergency responders from the Ogun State Emergency Medical Services transported one of the victims to Redeem Hospital, where she was later confirmed dead. The second victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash partially disrupted traffic flow along the expressway, but normal conditions were restored following the clearance of the accident site. The police are conducting further investigations into the incident, which adds to the growing number of pedestrian fatalities on major highways in Ogun State.
