Five Arrested for Kidnapping and Rape of Driver in Cape Town
The South African Police Service reported the arrest of five suspects, including two women aged 23 and 34, in connection with the kidnapping and rape of a 25-year-old e-hailing driver in Cape Town. After exchanging numbers and communicating, they arranged to meet. Upon arrival, he was kidnapped by the suspects, who subsequently raped him.
The victim's brother alerted the police after the suspects demanded R4,000 for his release. Utilizing a vehicle tracker, police located the victim on Southampton Road in Heathfield.
The five suspects, which also included three males aged 16, 42, and 48, were arrested and are set to appear before the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on Monday, September 14.
