Police Uncover Kidnapping Scheme, Arrest Three Suspects
The Nigeria Police Force (NPF), through the Intelligence Response Team (IRT), has uncovered a staged kidnapping scheme involving Nansik Wuyep Sule, 34, and the child's mother, Catherine Davou. They allegedly conspired to fake the kidnapping of two-year-old Rito Jesse Davou, initially demanding a ransom of ₦7 million, later increasing it to ₦15 million.
The child was found safe at Sule's residence and returned to his biological father after medical attention. In a separate investigation, police arrested Idris Mohammed a.k.a.
Yellow and Mohammed Bello Adams for their involvement in the kidnapping of commercial driver Idris Zakari Baba, who was lured under false pretenses and held for a ransom of ₦3 million. The victim's vehicle was recovered in Bauchi State while Mohammed attempted to sell it.
The suspects are also linked to the kidnapping of Pastor David Dahni and his driver, for which a ransom of ₦10.5 million was reportedly paid. The NPF continues to investigate these cases.
