South African Grammy-winning singer Tyla's scheduled concert in Lagos on December 22, 2026, has been removed from her APOP World Tour itinerary after backlash and boycott calls from some Nigerians. This decision follows a heated online campaign urging the cancellation of the concert due to concerns over xenophobic attacks and the treatment of Nigerians in South Africa.

The concert was initially part of a 34-city tour supporting her album *APOP*, released on July 24, and was the only Nigerian stop before her performances in Cape Town and Johannesburg in January 2027. The removal of the Lagos date coincided with the death of Nigerian national Chika Ibeh during a South African Police Service operation, prompting the Nigerian government to demand an investigation.

Prominent Nigerians, including content creator Solomon Buchi and activist VeryDarkMan, supported the boycott, arguing that the concert would undermine calls for justice regarding the treatment of Nigerians in South Africa.
