DACO LP Africa Supports Tyla's Lagos Concert Amid Xenophobia

DACO LP Africa, a legal firm, has called on Nigerians to refrain from boycotting South African artist Tyla's concert in Lagos, scheduled for December 22, 2026, amid ongoing xenophobic violence against Nigerians in South Africa. Managing Partner Damilare Adenola stated that while the anger over these attacks is justified, targeting Tyla is misplaced.

He emphasized that individuals should not be held accountable for the actions of their governments based solely on nationality. The firm highlighted that both Nigeria and South Africa are signatories to the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights, which guarantees freedom of expression and the right to work.

DACO LP Africa argued that cultural exchanges should not be hindered by governmental failures and that Tyla's performance represents African integration. The firm also urged the South African government to address xenophobic attacks and called on the Nigerian government to enhance diplomatic efforts to protect its citizens abroad.
