UAE Launches 10-Year Blue Visa for Environmental Leaders

The United Arab Emirates government has announced the Blue visa, a 10-year residence permit aimed at foreigners who have shown exceptional commitment to environmental protection and sustainability. This visa is available to a specific group of individuals, including members of international organizations, staff of global companies, and those affiliated with associations and non-governmental organizations.

Eligible candidates include distinguished environmental activists, researchers, and winners of recognized international sustainability awards. The Blue visa is open to both UAE nationals and foreign residents who advocate for environmental causes.

The UAE government stated that this permit is intended to reward and attract individuals whose work has had a measurable impact on sustainability efforts globally. Applications can be made directly through the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security or via a nomination process by competent UAE authorities.

The visa is available on a rolling basis, reflecting the UAE's broader strategy to attract talent in priority areas, emphasizing sustainability expertise alongside innovation and academic achievement.
